St. Louis trumpet player Jim Manley has just released a new CD "Splendor in the Brass" and it is fantastic. Reminiscent of the 60's MF big band both in size and in sound, this CD smokes. Jim's sound in the upper register is big enough to shatter glass, his soloing is excellent, and the band nails the arrangements. Check this great album out.

Jim Manley is a great player, teacher, and a very nice guy. I had a lesson with him a little over a year ago (sob) and it's amazing the sound and control he has while making it look effortless. Check out his other CD's, too! - Don _________________ Don Herman/Monument, CO
