Hello from Bulgaria,
I want to ask for advice. I bought this trumpet from a friend for 60 euro.It is engraved on it "Verfertigt von Jos Monke in Köln/RH"
Is there anyone who can tell me more about the brand and the model. What is it's worth. Is it worth to be refurbished and I do not know whether any part of it still exist. I'll be glad if you give me advice. Thank you.

I read this thread before I put mine. I guess the trumpet is very nice. I wonder if there are people who will play it, because as an old one may not be willing. And surely the restoration would be very expensive if any parts still existing. |

It's very hard to determine the worth or potential cost of refurbishment. The photos show some patches, dents, and signs of previous dentwork. We don't know if the valves need rebuilding but I would assume based on the appearance that they might.
Even if it ends up being a very good horn, most trumpeters today wouldn't play on it. For the most part, we have better options available. It would likely be desired by a collector and most of them would prefer to have the work performed themselves. Hopefully that doesn't bum you out about it too much. The good news is you got a crazy good price on it regardless of what may or may not need to be done.
best of luck, _________________ Joe Vandiver |

it would make an excellent trumpet to play for a year or two, before you pay large money for something nicer. as mentioned there's some desirable trumpets with the new manufacture. it's going to cost you don't worry about that. the good part is that it doesn't have to cost you right now.
