Really? So where would you use THAT ?
Reminds me of guys who scratch an old vinyl record on a turntable and consider themselves "musicians". Same goes for most "rap artists", IMO.

I agree its pretty cool!
Are you still able to play the horn too (with the modification, not a comment on your ability )? I think it'd be interesting to be able to accompany yourself.

I can dig it. What else are you going to use a bass trumpet for? Repertoire? _________________ Bach Strad 38 Bell

So I have some of that hose here, and it looks like he attached it ti the top tube of the first slide. Sounds like something Ed Harkins invented
Hey how come there has never been a thread about Ed?!
It seems like the rubber tube sound would be softer than it is in the recording compared to the bell sounds. I wonder if there is dynamic compression on it. It been processed. _________________ Mouthpiece Maker

yes, please see my orkamvideo youtube channel and you will hear the double trumpet that I play called the "hybrid Trumpet" in action. The pocket cornet acts as an amplifier and modifier of the source sound from the bass trumpet and one can make microtonal melodies through using the valves on the pocket cornet. http://www.rajesh-mehta.com/sqlindex.php5?chapter=instruments
(yes that's still a picture of me but from 2006!)

hi. thanks, although I love practicing bach cellos suites transcribed for trumpet and some other classical repertoire, haven't decided yet to perform any of them as I mostly use it in my own compositions. _________________ orka-m: partnering music & innovation

hi, you are right, the rubber tube sound is softer and duller without the extension which is a metal bird call whistle that sounds like noise (i affectionately call it my flying cappucino machine because it sounds very much like the sound of the steam nozzle ....otherwise all acoustic no processing whatsoever. The natural reverberance of the space in which I recorded of course affects the overall sound.

I'm a harsh critic but I dig this as it's interesting. _________________ "Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." - Maria Robinson
