They did a FANTASTIC job.

Wynton Marsalis and the LCJO followed them with America the Beautiful...

Was going to say how nice it is to hear it without all the needless ornamentation that singers typically do...and then the lone Tastee Bro showed up.

At least they enjoyed themselves. That's the point, isn't it?

Years ago someone military wanted to make it illegal to play any version rather than their "official" one.

Maybe they had a good idea.

If we could ban both high note hacks and pussy legit players from playing SSB that would be a good start.

DISCLAIMER: *As much as it might sound like it, I'm not trying to start a fight or an argument!*

High note hacks, I understand, but what exactly do you mean by "pussy legit players"? (IE - joke, or actually something?)

Trying to read through the sarcasm can be tough at times. I sure hope you folks don't see this as trash played buy some high note hacks.

I truly enjoyed this video.

FWIW this is a great 3-tpt anthem below... In-tune, in-time, and in-tone. Great sound, and style!

IMO I didn't real feel the OP version.

Arturo still has hands down my favorite tpt version of the anthem!

All joking aside - it takes guts to go out there and do what those guys did. At least it wasn't Miley Cyrus!

While this version may not be to the liking of some, and that's quite alright, it is a clear representation of the freedoms we are afforded as American's. In my opinion, there is no body better to express those liberties than the representatives of those who have fought to maintain our inalienable rights.

Bravo, gentlemen, on a patriotic performance!!!

Wow! So that was Susan Slaughter and others from the St Louis Symphony? I agree---very nice job. Beautiful singing style, and they played dynamics!

Both renditions were well played in their individual styles..It`s just Very sad to see the disrespect for the west point cats..I`v played with the lead player on this (John Castleman) in different settings, from big bands to funk bands, and he`s a great player..Hardly ever misses, pitch great without a doubt,,and those double c`s you heard are for real, even after 3 pages of hard writing..The high note jock reference is B.S..He`s a great player who can really play, and a good jazz player too

I want to amend that to People with strong chops who aren't windjammers and legit players con palle.

Windjammers don't have control in the staff and below.

If one doesn't don't know what con palle means, they shoulod look it up. Basic musical terms are Italian.
