I haven't used the behringer mics, but I have used some other of the chinese-made mics. In particular, I did a little work recently with a Studio Projects C3 (in Cardiod mode), but at the same time, I also ran an Electro-Voice PL-20 (a.k.a. RE-20), which is a dynamic mic. In listening tests, we preferred the PL-20, and that is what is posted here: http://www.csee.umbc.edu/~artola/zeus .
It has been recommended that I should give the C3 another chance, but set it further back in the room (I had it about 18" from the bell) and put the windscreen on it to roll-off the highs. Sounds like good advice, and I will try it next time I record.
What preamp are you planning to run your mic into?
