Hi everyone,
I have just emailed Warburton about the possibility of some custom mouthpiece work for cornet. I have been playing on a DW 4 for much of my cornet playing, but I use the '3' series mouthpieces on my trumpet. I want (predictably) the same rim on my cornet as on my trumpet. I have experimented with the 'BC' series from Warburton, but find them too bright for my tastes. Has anyone here had any experience with the Warburton Custom shop? I know, obviously that there is some risk involved in custom work, but feel this could be the best option. I would love to hear everyones thoughts.
Kind Regards |

DW may be able to do you a custom mouthpiece.
Not sure they would be able to do one that was made of the plastic that you use on the Warburton, but if they were able to get your normal trumpet top they mght be able to do something for you.
I know that they have been doing some experimentation with cornet mouthpieces designed for trumpeters. Having played a prototype of it I was very pleasantly surprised - a cornet sound without having to think about it too hard.
I will see if I can find out from the powers-that-be at Denis Wick.
With luck I will have an answer for you on Wednesday. |

Just receieved this from Warburton...
"Hi Danny,
I am currently working on designing deeper cups with our standard rims.
please stay in touch with Bruce at bruce@warburton-usa.com so he can advise when they are available.
Thanks,
Terry Warburton"
Sounds interesting... just thought I would pass the info along. |
