I would bid for this, but I have three already!
All in various states of disrepair, ranging from almost new condition to the one I use most - has been dropped, trodden on, squashed, restored, dropped a few more time, re-corked and held together with tape. As good now as it ever has been! |

I think that practice mutes and silent brass just don't work for me. I can't hear myself enough. Jo-Ral is very quiet and works great if you don't want to hear yourself play. If you can't hear yourself there is no way to assess you tone. I know that some people need them. Especially when you don't want to bother your neighbors. They just don't work for me. I just ask my neighbors when in the day it dosn't bother and I practice then. |

Great for practicing scales and Clarke type studies when other people are around. I use my Silent Brass Bb and picc mutes (without the electronics) to practice the above every night after my wife goes to bed in the next room. I can watch TV and practice mind numbing fingering skills all night. Having a practice mute adds about 2 more hours of practice time for me every day.

I agree. I use my practice mute for scales and other technical exercises, since my wife doesn't want to listen to these things every day for 2 hours per day.
I can hear myself well without any problem. _________________ '83 B&H Sovereign Cornet, MB w/Sparx 4; 4B
