I used to own a '55 Mt. Vernon and it did have 43 stamped on the bell, so there was no mystery. I sold it about 12 years ago for a bit over $2000.

My MtV is ser#192XX, 1959. No nomenclature on the bell. Thought I was playing a 37 till I received the shop card... Majority of the mint MtV I see on line run form $2500 up. If you are happy the way it plays, YOU GOT A GOOD HORN. The seller got what he was asking, he got a good deal. Enjoy playing your trumpet. When everyone is enjoying bathe concert they won't be worrying how much you paid... PEACE _________________ BACH STRAD '72
