Just wanted to share a little excitement with everyone. I should be receiving the first "Lawler Committee" model... very soon!

There's a sneak preview picture on my website, if you'd care to take a look.

Best always,
Bruce

Maynard Prodigy,
Look in the FAQ link on the top of the page. It'll have the info you want. I don't know about attaching pictures to your profile. Attaching a pic to your sig would be easy enough.

re: pictures, paste the url including http:// and put "(img)" before and (/img) after, replacing '(' and ')' with '[' and ']' respectively. I hope I explained that correctly.

Bruce

I would like to say, on behalf of my bank manager, please stop posting this sort of pic - I am having trouble with temptation!!

It's bad enough that I finally got to play some Blackburns at ITG this year (the piccolo is currently at the top of my wish list) but since joining TH I have come across Eclipse (want to try one, will probably be adding it to the list!) and now you are putting another in the way of me ever getting a healthy bank account!!

I have already stopped my daily searching of Ebay (no point, if it's decent someone tends to post a link to it on TH!!), at this rate I will have to stop coming on to TH just to avoid further temptation.

Seriously - that is a gorgeous looking horn, if only...

Bruce
This Lawler Committee you are getting. This is your own personal trumpet? Or is it going to be for sale to someone? Just curious.

Lou

My my my Bruce,

What a pretty horn. MAn that thing looks nice. I bet that it plays really great too. Roy makes a great horn. I may have to go down and check one out sometime soon. Woe, we should see about getting some more pics of it up here.

I received the Lawler Committee, early Monday afternoon. I took it out of the box, played a few notes on it, and played it during the lessons that I taught. I had a gig at night, so I played it there, too. It was great on Ballads, and when we played "Gospel John", it just ripped on Lead. First impressions... WOW!!!

This is the ML bore (.460") model. The response is lightning quick, with great intonation. The sound is very full, and pleasing, at all volumes, and in all registers. The engraving is very tastefully done. What a beautiful instrument! Roy really outdid himself this time around!

Although I don't currently have a Martin Committee to compare it with, I can tell you that the "Lawler Committee" plays circles around the .453 model Martin Committee that I had at one time. I think that trumpet players have an affinity for remembering the sound and feel of every horn that stands out in our minds. This one is memorable!

Lou... you asked a question. I'll have to get back to you on that! All that I can say right now is that I have another one on order.

Best always,
Bruce
