Anyone else have his newest release, 'Close to my heart?'
Very nice recording, also with interesting string arrangements. His rendition of 'Wierd Nightmare' is especially beautiful.
IMO, worth the money!

I just heard a song on the TV by him and his solo was very tasty. He just kept resolving beautifully into the changes, never high always with a bit on tension.
That's the first time I've heard him, I think. |

His new one is fantastic but I still like Insight and Profile more. It's more in the flavor of the Miles Davis 60s quintet with Herbie, Tony, Ron and Wayne. Still, this shows that he can go any directions with success. |

There's another CD by Sharp Nine record label called 'Class of 2001' which features JP in a more straight ahead bebop style. Great playing on that one, too.
