The Carmine Caruso Competition was great, the UCF Trumpet ensemble played very well at the opening of the Laurie Frink master class.
The real treat of the competition came in the final rounds! Dominick Farinacci and David Champagne lit the stage up! Farinacci came in first and obviously Champagne second. They're both absolutely phenomenal musicians and took no mercy when they played. It was really something to experience watching these guys go up on stage and really play their hearts. The judges truly had a lot to sort out in front of them. The announced '30' minutes to make the decision turned into three times that! But in the end everyone got something! Needless to say all of the contestants were great players, it was all up in the air. So hat's off to the two gentlemen who won.
