I got a GR FD piece today, and I was messing around a little waiting to give a lesson. I really like the way this piece sounds. To me it sounds and feels a bit like an "in between" the Curry TC and TF mouthpiece design. It's very easy and forgiving to play.
Just a little noodling I thought I'd share, and I hope you enjoy.

I noodled around on this thing a lot yesterday and some more today. This is a really fun mouthpiece. When I ordered it, I expected something like the Curry TC/TF pieces I've loved in the past, but with my current rim, and I'm very surprised.
Although similar, it is very different. It's not as "fluffy" as the Curry TF, Reeves C2J or Schilke "Fluffy"/F series pieces. It has a more definite core to the sound, more like what the Curry TC has, but darker still.
It's a really, really outstanding mouthpiece. It also sounds very nice on the C trumpet -- it'd be a great posthorn substitute. _________________ Isaiah 40:8
