had a chance to compare the construction between the two since the company moved overseas?

Do the bags still seem like they will last a good long while like the originals?

I recently got one of the new (made in China) bags and it's awesome. Workmanship is superb. Attention paid to every little detail including the packaging (all the hardware, strap rings, etc. are wrapped).

I never owned the earlier version and I've only owned this one for a very short time, so I can't tell whether or not it will last as long, but I don't think I'll have any trouble with it lasting. It's very well made.
