Anybody know how I could find or make one?

I want to use it in a trad group as both a mute and a way to get some feedback on my sound.

A mic stand and a sturdy metal spring clip from Home Depot should do the trick.

I've seen that exact setup more than once!

I just picked up a couple of what Home Depot calls 1-inch spring clamps. A buck a piece. They work perfectly!

Use one to clamp the mute to a standard metal music stand. Use two clamped together to attach the mute to a mike stand or the upright part of a music stand without the easel (or whatever you call that part).

The latter application would be for use with a big band-style front.

I have pix on my iPhone I can send to anyone who wants to see them. I think you need to send me your email address because I don't think I can send photos using the TH email system. Could be wrong.

I use a tenor horn stand. It’s height adjustable and using the arms, positioned at the top, I can play with it on the stand or pick it up to use by hand. Could have been made for the mute.

Bottom half of a wire music stand. + A loop made of coat hangar or something a little stronger like the metal strapping use for hanging pipes.
