I'm going to be in Budapest in a few days, and am interested in trying to find a local instrument store. Does anyone know of one? |

I went to Budapest 11 years ago for a few days and visited Fon Trade Music. Fon Trade was a little off the beaten path, but still walkable from the tourist parts of the city. English is less spoken as you wander away from the center. They had more piston and fewer rotatory valve instruments than I thought they would. At they time they had a fairly small selection, however they were friendly and happy for me to test some horns out. They had mostly Bach and Yamaha piston trumpets back then. Sorry that I can't help you more than that. I assumed they would have a bigger music store in a city the size of Budapest. Perhaps there are others that I just didn't find.
Here's a list of the Trumpets. Not sure if they have all these in stock (I kind of doubt it based on my experience - perhaps things have changed!)

Budapest is a cool city. Good luck! |

Thank you for your experience. Yes, I think Budapest will be great
(I have made all the shops in Belgium, Amsterdam and Paris (everything is closed during August in Paris), and I was surprised how hard it is to find even one flugelhorn mouthpiece.) |
