I'm pretty much just looking for a nice microphone/recorder so I can get some good quality recordings of myself while playing. The most I'm willing to spend is $400, I wish I had more but I'm only a college student!
Here are links to 2 different devices I found below, but I'm unsure if they will work well when recording a brass instrument. If y'all wanna suggest some other products please do! I have no experience in this department, so help is appreciated.

Also, after I do get a piece of hardware to record my playing, is there a way to record video of myself playing as well on a separate device and then edit the audio and video together from both devices into one? I have no idea how to do that
I also found a microphone that might be good? Not really sure though. Here's what I found:

The device in your first link, the Zoom H2n, is a great tool that I've used for years. It's perfect if you just need to record your practice sessions or lessons, and I've used mine to make several audition recordings. It's very easy to use.
Regardless of what you wind up purchasing, experiment with the gain, mic placement, the room in which you record, etc. These things make a huge difference! Good luck! |

Thanks! I'll definitely keep this in mind |

If you have a camcorder there are plenty of YouTube videos showing how to synchronize the external audio track.
Even easier, though, is the Zoom Q8, https://zoom-na.com/products/field-video-recording/video-recording/zoom-q8 , with which I have been quite pleased. _________________ Richard Ashmore
