Does anyone know where to get a book of music which is the same as, or at least similar to, the music played at Octoberfest events or in German beer halls, such as the Hofbräuhaus in Munich?
Thanks very much! |

What Americans use for Oktoberfest music or what you'd find in a German fest? _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

German Fest. If i can, I'd like to get a book that is more authentic, similar to what I heard at the Hofbräuhaus in Munich. |

Hello
I am from Germany, but I never played on the Oktoberfest in Munich.
The Oktoberfest is a big party, so nowadays you can hear espacially partymusic and not Bavarian folk music there.
The bavarian folk music is part of the traditional music, that brass bands or wind bands play at german beerparties all over the country. They play partymusic too, but also polkas, waltz and marches from Germany, Bohemia (Czech Republik), Austria etc.
You can buy this kind of sheet music at german music publishing companys like Rundel Musikverlag.
I found some free sheet music at the www. I don’t know the pieces, but I think they are in the right style.
http://www.juergenreinhardt.eu/polka.html
Press the button “Noten” and then you can choose.
At least you need the parts Flügelhorn 1, Flügelhorn 2, Tenorhorn, Bariton, Tuba 2, Schlagzeug.
And here you can buy professional sheet music and here demo recordings.

Rundel is great. There's a ton of music from them.
I particularly liked the music of Michael Klostermann. Also-rans are the music of Elmar Wolf (EWOTON Verlag [publisher]) and Ernst Mosh.
I can recommend Deutchmiester Regimentsmarsh (music title) also.
When you're searching, Blasmucik, Marsch, Egerlander, or (if you're brave) some Schlagermusik. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird
