I know it is not much for most on here, but I am a disabled vet doing a comeback. I have been playing on a King silver flair I picked up for 400.00 and then put 200 into valve alignment, cleaning, and custom finger buttons. A Bach 72 has been on my wish list for about 7 years when I started looking at coming back and started auditioning horns. Well I sold a pair of headphones, a knife and some stuff last month and just paid for a Lr180s72 from the marketplace today. I am pretty excited and hope it is shipped soon. I will compare the two horns, but might need to sell the flair as I am on a tight income and paid about 300 more than was planning. I would rather have a blue limning on the case so maybe i can find someone on facebook group to trade, but overall really excited.

Great that you’ve found a horn you’ve been looking for, sometimes a new horn can crank up your enthusiasm and motivation.
Have fun, and thank you for your service!

Looks very nice. The case looks good too. I hope it is what you are looking for.
If it isn’t quite right look at the mouthpiece gap. On my current Bach I could not hit a D above the staff. C yes, E yes. D no.
Mike Thompson of Thompson Music helped me and now with the correct gap the note is there with the others. |

Congrats on the comeback and looks like you got a pretty sweet new horn to help get you excited! I’m happy for you and hope you love it and play it all the time!
You don’t like the case color? I think it looks slicker than anything but the blue is pretty sweet as well.
Enjoy the new horn and I hope you are finding some ensembles to play with in your area.
Thank you for your service and god bless you and your family. |

I remember playing a Bach 72 for the first time about 10 or 11 years ago at Ferguson Music (now The Horn Guys - same owner) in La Crescenta, CA. I think it had the #43 lead pipe. I liked it a lot.
I hope this one is a good match for you, something you can take pride in and enjoy playing for years to come.
Thank you for serving us. May God bless you richly! _________________ Brian A. Douglas

Bach 72 reverse leadpipe came in. Here it is with my Silver Flair. Have to use my 1.5 b as it is a little too restrictive right now with my 3b. My larger bore Flair is more open then the 25 pipe on the Bach. With the 3b on the Flair and the 1.tb on the Bach the upper register feel about the same.
