Many guitar players could play lightning fast,
but Glen Campbell was so good that he made it look so easy.
I will miss him.

Huh?
I've still got a record of surf music with that "newly arrived (in the L.A. studios) wunderkind . . Glenn Campbell". Who knew where it would lead? _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

Somewhere on YouTube is another great video of Glen shredding on Back Home In Indiana. Guy was flat out amazing and he could not read a note.
I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Jimmy Webb several times. Glen recorded almost 80 of Jimmy's songs through the years. Jimmy once said that Glen was the most talented musician he had ever met.
Jimmy is doing a series of shows with Glen's daughter Ashley. We have tickets to see them next month in Old Saybrook, Ct. |

Yes, he was.
And while we're off brass for a moment, I just saw an interview with Meters bassist George Porter Jr. who said Roy Clark had some SERIOUS funk chops.

I had the privilege of playing on stage with Glen back in the late 70's as a member of a back-up ensemble during a concert. He was a tremendous musician, guitarist, showman, and a heck of a nice guy! The last years of his life were a sad legacy for an artist of his caliber. |
