Hi:
Someone has just approached me about buying a Carl Fischer Senator cornet...it was bought used in the 60's...I'm assuming it was made in the 50's. From what I can tell it's in pretty decent shape; Am I correct in assuming this is a student horn?

I've seen them on ebay for ~$30, so it's most likely a student horn |

Not surprised. Any idea where to get a list of serial numbers? I've searched and can't seem to find them.
Thanks,

Got the horn today; for whatever it's worth, I think it is very playable. This particular one has "Made in West Germany" stamped on the leadpipe. Definitely a student horn although it is free blowing and has a good sound. I'm guessing Buescher made it??? Hard to tell. The only problem is the tuning slide needs freed up and the pinkie hook is really cheap. The valves are great and work very well.
So, if anyone ever wants a cheapie horn to play or just give to someone to learn on, this isn't a bad way to go...at least this one is pretty good.
