I buy straight mute corks, cut them in half, and round the ends to match the other ends, if you're talking straights and tonal color mutes. (I like the ones with the peel-off paper you can just stick them on - no muss/no fuss. For Solotones and Whispas, make a template and use sheet cork from the hardware store. The stuff I got at my local Menards works better than some of the stuff on new mutes.
