Well, I know he has made pieces for several prominent professionals with Allen Vizzutti stating, "he (Peter Pickett) knows what he is doing." Also, I believe he actually makes the mouthpieces for a couple of well known mouthpiece lines other than his on.
He reproduced the Ingram/Pickett 1950's MF "Holy Grail" copy that I own (and will never part with) ... so, as always, it is a matter of YOU dialing in on what works for you in terms of inner diameter, depth, rim shape ad nauseum.

I have played a Pickett Brass Paul Baron Lead mouthpiece for the past 5 years. It is the best match I have found in a commercial MP for me. It has a 28 throat, Ingram backbore, and what I believe is a slightly modified Reeves 40S rim and cup. Mine is cut for sleeves. The sleeve system has really helped me dial in resistance and intonation. _________________ Jason Rahn

The Commercial Mouthpiece is a whole new series that was recently introduced. They're one piece and have an exterior shape that might remind you of a Jettone.
It is also a very different rim/cup design than the standard line. It's an efficient piece and they know as much about making mouthpieces as anybody. That's my experience from playing one.
IMO, the design really isn't very similar to the Paul Baron piece.
Other than those comments, you'll have to play it for yourself. I'm not going to get into whether I think is is better/worse than brand-x. _________________ Pat Shaner
