Does anyone know how to get a compatible tuning slide for a YTR-2320? My tech says they're not available. Wondering if a 2330 would fit or similar.

I got the horn new 30 some years ago in 7th grade and it still plays good. The original slide had a red rot spot I was told so they replaced it with a lacquer one and silver plated it a few years ago, but my son dented it pretty bad and it all flaked off. Would prefer to get a new one to plate if they're around. It'll be my son's marching band horn so not real important. Just thought parts wouldn't be so scarce for this.

You're out of luck unless you find a good condition donor horn.
The parts for those models aren't compatible with newer models, and Yamaha discontinued the parts and Allied is also out.

Fixing a dent isn't a big issue. Just take it to a decent tech and then have it plated again.

Thanks. My tech is concerned about a possible rot spot already on the slide, and has some work to smooth it all out. His plating chemicals are old so would have to be sent to someone else to plate. Seems like a lot of work for a student horn tuning slide. So I just took it back since it plays fine and it's a real busy time for him right now. Maybe I'll check around to see if there are any competent shops nearby. I'm in NE Iowa so not a lot around here.
