Getzen Eterna 900 C Trumpet

I may have a chance of buying a used Getzen Eterna 900 C Trumpet (1987) for about$ 400 +/-

I was trying to find some info about that trumpet on the net and here on TH, but was not very successful.

It seems that the Bb version has a pretty good rap. here, but never was the C version mentioned.

Has anyone any experience with this horn?

There are just not many of the C horns floating around. All the Getzen Cs I have seen have been fine horns. I think both players I knew who had them eventually switched to Bach to conform with what their peers were using, but it was not because of anything being wrong with the horns, if you get my meaning.

Same here. Same here, the person selling the Getzen is replacing it with a Pro horn, so she says - a Bach Strad.

I asked her what the differences are between the Getzen and the Strad, and she only responded, that the Strad response is a little quicker.

I also have a Connstellation, which response much more difficult to a Stard. But Next to my Connstelation, the Stad I tried sounded "cheap".

Sounds like I made a good catch with the Getzen. I should have the horn at the end of the year, so I will see.

I hope you like the Getzen. I don't play in a symphony, just occasional things on C and use an old Lawler I picked up second hand.

I have a Getzen Eterna C... and it's a beautiful horn. I use got it used for 800. I use it mainly in church and it fills up the sanctuary nicely. Oddly, the valves on my eterna are faster than my Getzen custom. You ended up with a great horn.
