All I can say is congratulations, and WOW!!!

Thanks, Dale! Coming from someone who knows old horns the way you do, it means a lot.

Apparently it seems I haven't answered the topic question yet in this thread (or at least I cannot find the post in which I have), so figured I might as well:

-1975 Olds Recording
My daily driver, and dream horn. It played great until about a year ago, when the valves started sticking on the upstroke. The valves were rebuilt by MG Trumpets and it plays even better now. Great tone and intonation, easy upper register and has received multiple positive comments by professional players. Can't see myself playing a different horn ever...in fact, if I ever lost it, I'd probably quit. It's that good.

-Getzen 700SP
My old student horn. Played it for about 2 decades and treated it like any highschooler would. Like a true Getzen, the valves still run like clockwork. The leadpipe has some redrot issues but it still remains fairly playable. Spends most of its time on the living room wall, but occasionally a section mate uses it for outdoors performances.

-1955 Olds Super cornet
The result of too much free time browsing the web during the Covid pandemic, I got it initially because I really liked the look of the Olds Super's tone ring and I figured it would make a decent brassband or flugel substitute (it does not). Had the original Olds-shank receiver replaced with a trumpet receiver to use it as a travel/backup horn Ryan Kisor-style. It's one of those horns that just screams 'play me' even though I don't have a real use for it. Was supposed to be sold to pay for a flugelhorn, but I never got round to actually letting it go.

-1939 Buescher 280 flugelhorn
If there's such a thing as a 'unique' horn, then this would be one. Buescher flugelhorns are rare enough in their own right, but this particular flugel was owned by Buescher-aficionado Tom Kruger (aka VetPsychWars) himself, whose reputation is deservedly legendary. The horn itself is equally impressive; it has a few intonation quirks but once those are managed, the resulting sound is unlike anything else. I consider myself fortunate to be the humble caretaker of such a unique instrument, and have every intention to ensure it will be played by future generations (as well as honoring Tom's memory) once I'm no longer able to.

"How many" (?) I truly do not know ... nor, do I need to know right now.
At least, "a few".

I have accumulated horns (never intending to be a collector), for various reasons.
At one point MANY years ago, I had about a dozen Martin Committees (at the same time), well before the craze for them began. They simply met my preference in playing style.

Never-the-less; I have acquired horns I consider significant. "Legacy" horns, if you will. I try to share my impressions and observations, technical aspects, etc., with these horns for responding to thread-topics, here on TH.

My everyday/go-to horn is a Pre-War F. Besson (Paris) cornet.
