Anyone ever seen a CM Purviance screw shank before? I've got a 4*3 with a screw shank.

Is there a similar thread I'm not aware of? If not, I responded to this thread last night but, I guess, gremlins got it.

Anyway, I can't guarantee you that Purviance didn't make a screw rim mouthpiece, he did make custom pieces and you might have one, but back in the day, I never saw one. Even visited Carol at his L.A. workshop and no screw rim was in sight.

You know, right, that Reeeves makes a Purviance mouthpiece with screw rim?

Actually, it's the backbore that screws off. I've got pictures, but haven't yet figured out how to post them here without remote hosting. If you can tell me how to do that I'd happy to throw them up here. It's a great playing and sounding mp............

It could have been cut and threaded by someone else. Park or Warburton for example. I used to have a P10 (6*3) that was cut for Warburton backbores.

That makes sense. The backbore, though, is marked 4*3 where Purviance size markings are always stamped, and the cup is stamped "CM Purviance" so I'm assuming it's all original.
