Best wishes to everybody !
i hope 2019 has started well for all of you and family.
I started just today the 1st of the Trumpet routines by Vacchiano. My first jazz teacher had given me it almost 30 years ago, but i never practiced it...
The feeling i got today is that it can prepare you well to play as accurately as required for orchestral playing (and for trumpet playing in general)!
Just curious to hear your experience and thoughts about this book
many thanks

"Trumpet Routines" is a terrific book for the intermediate/advanced player. Each routine can comfortably be completed in under 30 minutes per day. That's a fairly quick overview of most of the essential "mechanics" of trumpet playing, leaving plenty of time for playing music and deeper-dives into technique.
I have my own routine, so don't use Vacchiano's routines much at home. I do, however, use them when I am traveling and find them ideal for that purpose.
Enjoy! |

Many thanks Dayton.
I think i'll practice all the routines, spending couples of days on each one.

I used this book a lot in college, until someone just stole that from my backpack and I could never find another one _________________ Bb - Bach Stradivarius 37
