|
|
The university I teach at has recently purchased 3 Monke rotary trumpets(2Bb,1C). I am trying to figure out what kind of single cases we can get to house these horns. In searching the forum it looks like the Jakob Winter case is the best option. Wondering if there are any others out there to check out. |

Hard case or soft? Single instrument per case or a double/triple? Looking forward to your reply!

Hoping to find a hard single case for each instrument that isn't too expensive. |

Marcus Bonna single case. You can configure the inside to fit any kind of horn. I use it for Bb or C rotary or any piston horn I have too. And it’s a hard case. My favorite case by far. |

I'd recommend that you look into a single Torpedo for them. The torpedo cases are superbly crafted and can fit a variety of instruments. I've also had a Marcus Bonna single in the past but was not enamored when I dropped it once and my trumpet bell was dented. I have literally fallen on my Torpedo cases with NO damage. _________________ Dr. Albert L. Lilly, III DM

Oh yeah, the Schagerl cases are great, much better than Protec. Didn’t know Trent had them on hand.
Careful if you go with a Torpedo - i know of a rotary that was damaged at the main slide brace due to the pressure exerted on the vent key mechanism while in the case. A light drop wound up breaking the joint. _________________ Trombahonker's Practice Studio on Youtube |

I haven't had that issue, but it is good to know. Thanks for that...one of the many great reasons I'm on here!
