I saw Dick Dale live at the Birchmere when he was in his 70’s. He looked at the folks in the front row, who must have had similar mileage on their odometers, and asked, “Where are your ear plugs? Don’t you know this is a Dick Dale concert?” He played the trumpet as well as the guitar, and did so pretty well. Does anyone know if that's him playing it on Misrlou? |

I'm pretty sure he plays both guitar and trumpet on his classic recording of Miserlou. He was born on Maynard Ferguson's birthday. _________________ '75 Bach Strad 180ML/37

Yes, he played the trumpet on the Miserlou recording.
I saw him live at least a half a dozen times over the years. He played the heck out of his trumpet! The world is a poorer place without him. He was so awesome. _________________ Yamaha 8310Z trumpet
