After 50-some years of teaching and performing, here's my best advice for starting to play the trumpet:
1. Get a trumpet
Almost universal advice. After that point there is a never-ending disagreement. |

2. And try always to get the best sound out of it. |

I thought the trumpets meant in this thread were always delivered with an unbranded 7C and white gloves. |
