I just got the news that the guitar player in our band passed away suddenly at home shortly after last night’s gig. He was a very apparently healthy guy, only around 55, a great guy and a great guitarist.
We all need to remember to keep life’s ups and downs in perspective and enjoy the time that we have.

Thank you, agreed 100%.
Oddly, this is the fourth guy in the same band who has passed unexpectedly, two bass players, the guitar player last night and the sound guy, all within the last four years. And we are not all old dinosaurs like me (64), two were in their 50’s, two mid 60’s. Plus we had an audience member die during a gig a few years ago.

Sh@t happens. We live in the highest stress level type of life that I have ever experienced, and people here in my life are falling as well.
Enjoy every day.

Amen to that. I'll be spending this afternoon at the calling hours for a former student who passed away unexpectedly at 14. She was a sweet, hyper, funny young lady who always cracked me up. She had boundless energy and I would tease her that she needed to switch to decaf! She would laugh and flash her million dollar smile.
Events like this are a sobering reminder of how unfair life can sometimes be. |
