Just need some input (guidance) here. Currently playing a Bach 2 3/4c. Love everything about it but the cup needs to be a bit larger across. Any suggestions on where to start?

Thanks - RC

It's real similar to a Bach 1X. The rim contour not so much, but the cup shape and depth is really similar.

Many options, but why do you think you want a bigger diameter?

I wrestled and fought with pieces in the 1.5 - 1 Bach range (Bach, Schilke, Yamaha, Warburton) for years, then by chance and some guidance moved back toward the 3 neighborhood - without loosing tone, I gained consistency, endurance and after a while my range took off.

Just curious because "bigger" isn't always the answer.. nor is "shallower" for the upper register.

If your liking and doing well with the Bach rims - I'd direct you toward Pickett, Very similar but with more consistency, variety and would allow you more choices for backbore/throat choices)

The shape of the rim where it presses on your lips and teeth has a BIG influence on how large the ID of the rim feels - and also affects how comfortable the rim feels.
If your primary concern is to find a rim that 'fits' better by feeling 'larger', then I suggest that you concentrate on the rim curvature and its 'high point' location - not the actual rim or cup ID.

KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'.
