Hi All

I'm looking for information on a flugel my student owns and plays. It is stamped as a Bach model 501 instrument.

In short, due to the cheap case and odd engraving / serial number, is it a knock off or the real deal?

cheers

Andy

When I search for this instrument, it's not turning up China-based hits from ebay, alibaba, etc., so it doesn't seem like it's a heavily copied instrument. Why don't you take a picture and just send it to Conn-Selmer?

I recently saw new trumpets on eBay listed as Bach Strads, but they weren't even close. Buyers beware.

Is it shaped like a normal flugelhorn or like one of those funky cornet looking ones?

This Chinese copy of a YFH 631?

I think this is the real Vincent Bach cheap students horn deal.
This kind of horns are mostly not bad at all.

I have seen this being sold in the UK. It is made in China for Bach. Its an intermediate model. The places I have seen selling them are reputable authorised Bach dealers so they must be legitimate.
