Where can I order the parts for a trigger to be attached to my Yamaha 631 flugelhorn? Or, is that something the shop would be expected to have or to order? |

I had the same issue about 10 years ago - the good folks at the Yamaha Atelier in Osaka put one on for me. Not sure if you’re near one (NY or LA in the USA), but that would be your best bet. Otherwise: I would imagine they’d sell the necessary parts to an authorised dealer/repair person.
It made a huge difference! Great horn. _________________ Joel Brennan

Any repair shop with a Yamaha parts account or an Allied Supply account should be able to order the kit and install it. It requires only one solder joint.
I have done this many times and use the kit and modify it for use on other brand horns. |

As Ed says. I ordered the kit from Yamaha years and years ago, and jut got a trusted tech to fit the soldiered mount on for me and cut the 3rd valve slide down so it moved easily. The kit came with slide inserts to pop into the female part of the slide assembly.
It's not something you would expect ANY good tech to keep in stock...
cheers

The kits now come with a replacement slide fitted with the screw receiver for the trigger mechanism. |

Oddly enough, I've typically had at least one lying around in the shop, up until recently. So many people wanted the trigger conversion, that I just kept a pile of them in various configurations. I stopped when it took 2 years for someone to finally bring their horn in to do it, after the initial conversation. _________________ Chris King
