|
Hi all, newbie here , hope someone can help...
got a Kanstul Brevette Flugel, which, according to someone else in the house who knows better than me, is too loud... what's the right size/make/model etc practice mute for this horn? Serial is 5881 (late 70's?).
Thanks for your time

Try playing into a clothes closet. Any practice mute is a compromise, they affect how the horn responds. I can’t imagine that the dark sound of a flugel would be all that disturbing to someone else in your home, but if so, try the closet, or outside, or even in your (PARKED!) car.

Brad, you must live alone! Haha! If you heard what comes out of MY horn you'd be 'disturbed'!! _________________ MH |

rumour6, you might have some fun with a Yamaha Silent Brass rig... it involves a few wires and earphones but works well. You can also just use the mute part by itself if you wanted.
My fav practice mute for trumpet is a Pampet mute but I don't think they make one for a Flugel ( if they did, I'd buy one within 5 seconds!) so I've adapted a trumpet model with an extra ring of foam to work with my Flugel. _________________ MH |
