We have new pop-up ads in the bottom right corner now. These ads are pretty big and block a significant portion of the forum text, making it hard to read the content we came here to read.
We know that the owners of this website need to monetize it. But this is too much. Is there any way to eliminate these new ads? |

On my phone, scrolling makes it go to the bottom - good thing or I wouldn't be able to read the screen at all. Using IE & Chrome though its always there blocking part of the text.
Whoever thinks these will sell product clearly doesn't realize how annoying they are and what a motivator it is to go out of one's way to avoid anything advertised there! _________________ Ron Berndt

I just assume that the pop-up ads along with the ones at the bottom of the page are being used by the TH for ad revenue. If that's the case I'll tolerate it because I want the site to continue. If either of these are not helping fund this site I definitely want to find a way to nuke them. I hate otherwise unnecessary and pesky ads with a passion. _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."

I’m with you, except the ads are physically blocking the content I came here to read. |

One more vote for very annoying. I can deal with the ads at the bottom of the page but these pop-ups block content and are really distracting. _________________ Bill |

Perhaps it's because I'm using a farily large high-resolution monitor and the using a fairly large window, the pop-ups don't cover any content. Though it's near impossible not to divert the eyes when they transition. Maybe I'll put a sticky note over that corner of my monitor. _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."

If you hover the mouse over, it reveals an X that can be clicked to close the ad. |
