Anybody else here play these???
Our Brass ensemble at church started using these last year and have enjoyed them ever since.
Almost sight-readable material for the ameature player but very well arranged, and if you can cover all 5 parts, it makes a good impact.
We used them in a nursing home, at a benifit shopping gig as well as in the Narthex at our church between services.
Nice stuff.
We got them at JW Pepper.
Go here http://www.jwpepper.com/catalog/search and type in Carolers Favorites. _________________ Yamaha 6345S Bb Trumpet

Yes .. I've used them in about 4 different Situations..
1) Cornet/Brass Band for a Christmas Parade ( We didn't have to march just played before it all got started)
2) Brass Trio ( Pulled together brass trio for a Luncheon at work )
3) Brass Quintet (Filler music for a Christmas Gigs)
4) Trumpet Quartet ( We got together & surpirsed our old Trumpeter Teacher )
They work in LOTS of diffrent situations & the audience enjoys them..

Yes I played them.
I was the other day at downtown and I have seen a
Salvation Army quartet playing carols, and I said
...gimme that horn, and let me play and I'll give you
a couple of bucks... the kid accepted and I play a
couple of carols with the kids, was really fun.

I tried to do the same thing as Gus but couldn't find any Salvation Army Players.
I call it Kamikaze Caroling... I find an unsuspecting Salvation Army Brass player usually playing solo.
Ask them if I can join them for a few songs, then they ask what do I play.HA, HA.. I open the back of my SUV & ask what they want me to play.. Eb Cornet, Bb Cornet, Flugelhorn, Alto Horn, Euphonium or Eb Tuba.. You should see the look on there face.. Usually I just let them play the 1st part & I play 2nd on an instrument under them.. If they play Cornet , I'll Play Flugel .. If they play Alto Horn I'll play Euphonium.. It's Fun

Kamikaze Caroling... I love it.
I guess that is better than Drive By Caroling as they can hear you for much longer.
