They haven't made it in years. It's gone the way of BBQ Fritos and Ranch Fritos. Polar makes a carbonated collins mixer, but it doesn't seem to be as intense as I remember the Canada Dry being. So when I'm not making margaritas, which is my go-to mixed drink, I make some simple syrup and add lime juice, gin & club soda. Limeade from concentrate works decently, I use less water when mixing it up. I used to call this a Tom Collins, subbing lime for lemon, but more properly, it's a gimlet, a drink so old, it's new again! |

My favorite margarita mix doesn’t seem to be available locally. Unfortunately I don’t remember the brand/name, I just recognized it on the shelf.
Have tried some others and don’t care for them so far. The latest is Jos Cuervo light margarita mix. Absolutely horrible. Uses sucralose so perhaps it has aged out. Like Diet Dr. Pepper does. |

Easy margarita. Make a pitcher of limeade from concentrate, use 3 cans water instead of 4.
In a margarita sombrero glass:
ice
3 oz tequila
1 oz triple sec, or better yet, Gran Marnier or Cointreau (there is a difference you can taste)
1 oz Rose's Lime Juice
Half-lime squeezed.
Top off with limeade. |

Too much work.
I might just try it, but would need to shop. |

Back in the late '70s I lived in Gainesville, FL.....a rollicking college town. Much alcohol was consumed there. We would often wake up late morning. It would be Florida hot out and we were hung over. I think it was Bacardi that used to make these frozen mixers for Daquiris and Margaritas. They were packaged like frozen orange juice concentrate. The daquiris came in strawberry and banana. Let one soften up for a few minutes, plop it into the blender, generous helping of rum or tequila, lots of ice and BAM! Breakfast.
