Hi guys,

I am confused

I began my studies by blowing into into the mouthpiece and thought that was all there was.

I learned well how to blow, and then I read about horn players who can play by sucking the air and I thought this sounds interesting so I tried it but without success.

Having given that up and got used used to blowing again I was very surprised when I was told by an audience member "Man you suck"

Do I still blow or do I now suck

Any suggestions that will help me decide this would be very welcome

Trying playing with a mouthful of your favorite beverage, if you drown, then you suck!

Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'.

Makes me remember a post I once read on a door at a Spanish closet: "There is no such thing as gravity - the earth sucks".
Maybe you should turn the thing inside out??

You have given me a way forward Seymor thank you

I think you are on to something Jay I will give that a go

I tried the circular breathing thing with a straw and all I got was a mouthful of water.

It starts to make sense
