Here's this weeks #mutemonday video!
I'm discussing a little Shastock history, and I'm discussing three cup mutes that I have one from the early 1930s, one from the 50s/60s, and another one that's potentially from the 1920s (more research is needed and the experts seem to be stumped).

I've only got a few ... but I'm hanging on to them.
Ray Robinson ... I've got a LOT of. Shastock straight mute ... also a LOT of. But I typically trade as opposed to sell.
One think I like is to get complete section sets of some vintage mutes, it's a blast to roll up to a big band gig with them all. Especially since some of the old charts ask for the specific brand of mutes. _________________ On the road with Under the Streetlamp

And the Shastock Tonal Color lets you easily properly adjust to each trumpet in a section! Not so with the Ray Robinson. I have a few of each, a few more, I could probably put my grandsons through a few months of college!
But don't want to sell any of them, no. Unless the grandkids follow through with their threat to become drummers! _________________ huntman10

Yeah, the Ray Robinson is not easy to adjust as it's just the corks. I've got a few, all adjusted for my horn, one really tight, one a little more open.
Become drummers ... 😂😂😂 _________________ On the road with Under the Streetlamp

Maybe I should sell these:
Nice! They are popular mutes. _________________ On the road with Under the Streetlamp
