Does anyone know how the vintage king s1 would compare to a modern piece? My super 20 silver sonic symphony is coming with one and I can't find much info on this one. _________________ Current horns

Interesting quote from an earlier discussion on TH.
Quote: | I am making the assumption that you want to find a King S1 mouthpiece for a 1950s era King trumpet. I used to have a King Super-20 Symphony Silver Sonic (H.N. White Co. family has it now) and the mouthpiece receiver taper was different than on today's horns. The Silver Sonic originally came with the King S1 mouthpiece and it fit the receiver properly. Modern-day mouthpieces fit a little wobbly. |

|

Hello, I just received a King 1965 Super 20 Silver Sonic with a King S1 mouthpiece, the S1 seems to have no wear.. The King S1 and my Bachs wobble in the receiver.
Any comments on how the wobble affects play-ability? |
