Thanks for posting that, one of my all time favourite pieces, beautifully played. Very evocative piece of music for me.
Michael Sachs has that trumpet sound I have in my head and try to emulate.

It was to be performed with just the solo trumpet.
Harry Glanz told Copland it was too fatiguing as a trumpet only solo. Copland then wrote the English Horn part to give the trumpet the rest.
It is marvelous in this version, but I think the principals of today could handle it as a solo.
