|
|
Hello,
I just want to know, if someone play a Hammond Design Mouthpiece on a Rotary Trumpet.
I'm using the 4 Series on my Bach and I'm very happy with them (4ML as Standard and 4MB for BigBand)
Now I'm considering to play a Rotary Trumpet and looking for some hints, if just as Breslmair would be the "go to" option or if a HD would also make sense.
The HD 4ML is definitive too bright and not "round" enough.
Thanks a lot for any suggestions!
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Sonic |

I think you'd do well to try one of his deeper models. He might also have custom shanks fitted for rotary. I used an MLH on C trumpet for a while, and I think one of his larger cup volume mouthpieces with the same rim could be what you're looking for. _________________ Ska/Reggae - The Selectones

Email Hammond! He’s a great guy who will not steer you wrong. |

I don’t use Hammond for Rotary.
I’ll just add that Karl probably has tons of backbores on file beyond his 3,4,5 Backbores.
I’m guess something like a 3L with a very open backbore would work. But maybe he has a Breslmair cup/bb on file too? |

I have a Breslmair, Bruno Tilz, and Josef Klier. I prefer the first two over the JK. You would be well served to get one of them and really access the sound you are searching for. _________________ (List horns here) |
