Does anyone know the difference between the older one piece rounded outer bowl Giardinelli mpcs from the more modern one pieces. History? Years made? How close to the originals? Thx

I believe Greg Black has all of the old Giardinelli cutting tools. He showed them to me when I was at his shop a couple of years ago. He might also be able to help with this type of information.

[quote="gregplo"]I believe Greg Black has all of the old Giardinelli cutting tools.

Does he offer Giardinelli mouthpieces made from these tools?
Any relation to his New York mouthpieces?

I did not ask when I was there…I’m sure he’d respond to a request from his site.

He has all of the original measurements and can make you anything you like.
I have a custom piece made with a Giardinelli blank with my rim and backbore.
I think I still have the original 6s and 6vm somewhere...

The New York pieces are based on an original Jet-Tone design and use his standard blank.
I've seen him make many custom blanks so that's up to you.
