What kind of Olds trumpet is this? The model isn't on the bell. It just says underneath, "Elkart, Ind. USA".

It's probably an NA-10M. Is there anything on the receiver? These horns are just Olds In Name Only. _________________ Jim New S5 M and MS with C Backbore

I can't really tell much from the close-cropped photo, but I suspect based on the description that it is a modern stencil Olds from NMEC, built by Blessing before they were sold and shut down. _________________ Ron Berndt

Made by Blessing. Student junk.... (I bought one to test). Stick with vintage CA. Olds.... _________________ "There is no necessity for deadly strife" A. Lincoln 1860

Yes, I can barely make it out from the other photo. What a waste of a good name. Then some folk get suckered into thinking the serial number is in the late 60's. The Wild West of trumpets. Sigh. _________________ Gotta Love Music |

I can't resist the play on words:
"If it isn't old, it isn't Olds"
Seriously, who, if anyone, owns the name now? There are so many great old Olds trumpets, why fool with this new stuff/junk? And, while Olds are priced up there, there are other vintage trumpets about as good which are not. King Liberty, Holton Revelation, 45 and 48 and others, Bueschers, old Blessings, etc. Various French and English Besson trumpets...Salvation Army horns...and so on. Do a little research and play a few horns...see what works. _________________ royjohn

This.
I think I mentioned the Olds stencil horns when you asked about a similar Reynolds. This is one. The barely readable Elkhart IND means it was probably made by Blessing. Could be worse, but it's a Blessing Scholastic with an Olds label.
