Any specific reason why you favor this particular video? Did this help you unlock your high register? Is it how you teach your students? Is the video in question from your mentor/idol/etc.? Does it contain some unique information that most high notes videos lack? _________________ 1975 Olds Recording trumpet

That's a good video about how to PRACTICE playing high notes, but doesn't contain much actual teaching about how to PLAY high notes.
The critical part is briefly described beginning at 1:40 where he explains that the player must KNOW the lip position (probably including the entire embouchure, air pressure, body posture, etc.) for EACH of the notes. _________________ Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'. |
