Hey TH, new mute video featuring the iconic Ullven mutes!!

I spoke at length with Ullven Mute owner (and great trumpeter) Lasse Lindgren and included a LOT of info in this video along with demonstrating 3 different mutes. I hope you all find it helpful and interesting. Some great mutes being made again in Sweden!

Anyone else here have some Ullven mutes? If so, how do you like them?

It was fine as a solo mute, but I didn't feel it blended well with other cups. As I'm not a soloist, I'm sure it's being put to better use now...

I love those mutes but I lost them. Are they available for sale again?

I love my Ullven Dizzy Bop and Dizzy Cup mute. What did you use to file the corks on them?

Yup! https://www.lasse-ullven.com/ullven-brass-mutes

He's been restocking here and there as they sell out quickly. There seem to be some supply chain issues with the cork and felt, but they are back in business! I'd message them or just keep an eye on the website.

Hey, Josh! Love your videos, in particular Mute Monday. (I call it "Spend all your money on mutes Monday".) I have the Popy Bop and Popy Cup in aluminum (black powdercoat), and I simply love both of them!

Thanks for mentioning that you need to file (a lot!) the corks. Those of you that plan on purchasing either of these mutes, be sure to file them to dial them in for your horn.

Lasse Lindgren was super attentive with following up on my order, and I'm thrilled that these are back in production.

Any thoughts on the Stubby Bop Mute? I saw on his FB page that he has a bunch of new prototypes in different sizes, and I'm curious to see if he changes the design at all. It's a great sounding mute, even if it doesn't really hold together too well below the staff.

Keep up the great work with the videos! -Bob

Thanks, Bob!!

Awesome you've got a few, thanks for checking out my vids.
I haven't yet played the stubby bop so I can't comment on that one, but I'll be making a video with one in the future, might be a little bit until I get it ... I'll be sure to get the full story whenever I'm able to make that video.

Seems like he is constantly working on new things and working on getting back to full inventory.

All the best!
