I like to keep my practice sessions entertaining. I'm also hooked on bebop and really enjoy shedding out of the Charlie Parker Omnibook book but, man, those tempos - 200 bpm and up.
My solution is to play 'em as ballads until I stop missing notes. Then I move the tempo up a notch.
I haven't given up Arban or any of the other classics but none of them do it for me like bebop! _________________ Jim Hatfield

+1
Taking it slow at first is the only way to go. Otherwise, stuff like this would just make me want to toss my horns in the lake:
