It's just a subjective observation but it seems to me that the more classical based players are less open and seem to have little patience to a newbie. Maybe I just have not hung around long enough. I have an interest in both jazz and classical. In opinion, they are very different in form, style, and performance. |

I would put it this way, in my experience. Most are friendly, just (generalization) different.
I find the Classical people a little more, for want of a better word, "affected", more "serious", while Jazzers, at first, maybe a little more cocky. Big generalizations, because people are individual.
The one constant I'll say about all of them is, you'd better be sincere. Classical or Jazzers can smell a phony a mile away and can be pretty condescending l if that's the case. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

My experience, it depends more on where they are from and their personality than what type of music they play. _________________ Please join me as well at:
