|
|
I have an Adams F1 flugelhorn with the smaller (6” or 150mm) of the bells they offer on that model. I am looking to get a multiple horn case that fits it plus a Bb trumpet, for those times where it’s not practical to carry the flugelhorn in its own case.
A couple of options I’ve been considering are the Protec IPac triple and the Raw Brass RB Junior. (I want to stay in the size range of these cases for a couple reasons, so no quad cases.) Both seem like they should work based on published interior measurements, but I can’t be sure. Is there anyone out there with an F1 that can confirm it fits safely within either of those cases?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Mattt, do you want a case for local running around or for flights?
How protective should it be? _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I also have the Adams F1 with the large bell and I use the Gard trumpet/flugelhorn case with wheels and collapsible handle. Mine is Cordura, but it is also available in leather. It's beautifully made and it offers great protection, all at a very reasonable price. I have had it for two years, use it on a regular basis, and it has held up very well. |

I had good luck with my Gard Mid-Suspension Trumpet & Flugelhorn bag. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I have an MG Leatherwork double case. They've changed their marketing, but in the old marketing it used to show an A8 and I think an F2 fitting comfortably in the bag. I have an A4 with a 5.5" and a Yamaha flugelhorn with a 6" bell, and they fit comfortably, with room to fit a couple mutes on top, and slip an iPad in the sidewall compartment.
It's a great bag for around town, though I wouldn't fly with it, I don't think. It's not as bomber at a Gard, but it's a little more user friendly for day to day use. I use it even if I don't bring the flugel, to carry extra mutes and water and such. I bought mine off Etsy a year or two ago, though I think Trent started carrying them at ACB. |
